Located in the heart of Kyushu, Kumamoto is a land of rich history, stunning nature, and delicious local cuisine.
From Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso to hot springs and gourmet delights, this prefecture offers an unforgettable travel experience. Kumamoto Castle is one of Japan’s three most famous castles.
Built by the legendary samurai Kato Kiyomasa over 400 years ago, this fortress stands as a symbol of resilience. Although it was damaged by the 2016 earthquake, restoration efforts have revived its majestic appearance.
Mount Aso boasts one of the largest calderas in the world.

Despite being an active volcano, its vast grasslands and stunning scenery make it one of Japan’s most breathtaking landscapes.
